You should be able to return to work (if your job does not involve a lot of physical exertion) and ease back into your usual routine.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Within 7 \u2013 14 days, <\/strong>many patients are pain-free and have returned to doing most of their normal activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>After 3 \u2013 6 months, <\/strong>your implants should be solidly bonded with your jawbone, and your dental team may replace your temporary All-on-4 denture with a permanent one.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tips to Facilitate a Smooth Recovery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your compliance with your care team\u2019s post-op instructions will play a big role in both your comfort and ability to recover efficiently. Here are some general guidelines that many dentists prescribe after All-on-4 surgery:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Rest with your head elevated for the first day or two in order to reduce swelling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use cold compresses as directed to manage discomfort and swelling.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Choose soft, nutrient-rich foods, such as yogurt, scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, smoothies, and brothy soups that are not too hot.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Avoid straws, smoking, alcohol, and hard or crunchy foods until your dentist approves them.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keep your mouth clean with the rinse or hygiene routine that your dentist recommends. You will need to be gentle but thorough around your surgical sites.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Take pain medication exactly as instructed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">When to Call Your Dentist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A degree of discomfort is normal after All-on-4 surgery, but certain symptoms are red flags that should prompt a call to your care team.
