Delta Dental Coverage Availability & Fees

Delta Dental offers a number of different plans, each of which has its own set of coverage levels, fees, and other stipulations. We recommend that you take a bit of time to review your policy documents to learn how your benefits work. In the meantime, here are some generalized points about the coverage that is often available through Delta Dental:

• Preventive care, including cleanings, exams, X-rays, and fluoride, is often up to 100% covered.
• Basic services, such as fillings, are typically up to 80% covered.
• Major services, including crowns and root canal therapy, are frequently 50% covered.

Keep in mind that some lower-priced plans provide reduced coverage levels, while some premium plans might offer impressive benefits. When you are shopping for insurance, you should choose a policy that fits both your budget and personal needs.

It is common for Delta Dental PPO plans to enforce a deductible and a waiting period before certain services are covered. You may also have an annual maximum, which is a yearly limit on the amount that Delta Dental will pay for approved services. Because we are in-network with Delta, we have a contract that controls fees. Therefore, you may be able to get more out of your plan when you visit us (as opposed to an out-of-network provider). In some cases, we are even able to schedule major services across calendar years so you can use two annual maximums instead of only one.
